BRANDING | SIGNAGE | PRINT DESIGN

This exciting arts project comprised three outdoor, interactive digital installations across Ashford town centre.

Running during the spring of 2021, the unique mix of scannable, interactive window graphics and large art installations were designed to create Covid-safe audio-visual experiences for local people to engage with and enjoy.

The Brief
The project was an ambitious fusion of illustration, music, theatre, mechanical displays and innovative digital technology - a diverse mix of media that called for a bold and simple identity to overarch and unite its three major artworks.

And with the objectives of bringing colour, digital art and playfulness into Ashford's quiet town centre during the strict Covid lockdown, it needed to appeal to family audiences, connect different generations and excite and inspire people with its creativity.

The Solution
Taking inspiration from the first half of the project name - the Alt key on a computer, which changes the function of other keys - we developed this identity with the clear aim of balancing digital modernism with retro cool.

The stylised computer key element combines with distinctive digital typography and a series of exploding pixels in bright RGB shades for a simple, but impactful logo.

Once the branding was finalised, we created a range of posters, social media graphics and information panels to introduce the artist and guide people to the artworks.
